Bevstir Innovations’ Vision for Better Wine Aeration
Product Concept: The vSpin Wine Aerator
Bevstir Innovations approached RSP with a newly patented wine aerating product called the vSpin—a device designed to aerate wine quickly and efficiently using proprietary magnet technology. With deep experience in the restaurant industry, the Bevstir team had developed several basic prototypes and needed a manufacturing partner to refine the design, improve aesthetics and functionality, and ensure cost‑effective production. RSP’s role was to integrate the magnetic aeration system into a product that was both elegant and suited for large‑scale manufacturing.
Selecting RSP as Engineering and Design Partner
Bevstir chose RSP for its extensive experience across engineering, prototyping, and product design. RSP assigned a dedicated project launch engineering team to lead the design review and development process. This team worked with Bevstir to align on price targets, testing requirements, timelines, material specifications, and packaging needs—establishing a clear development path that accounted for all key product requirements
Engineering and Prototyping Collaboration
RSP supported the mechanical and electrical design of the vSpin, including testing and refining the electronics used to generate the ideal vortex inside a wine decanter. To meet Bevstir’s safety criteria, RSP’s engineers selected a battery solution that avoided lithium‑ion technology while still providing long operating life. RSP also integrated capacitive touch controls that leveraged the natural conductivity of a user’s finger, resulting in a sleek and modern user interface.
Go‑to‑Market and Recognition
Through joint efforts, RSP delivered a finished vSpin product approximately eight months after project launch. The vSpin has since received recognition from the German Design Council, winning a 2018 German Design Award for excellence in design—an acknowledgement of both innovation and execution quality
Outcome and Continued Partnership
The successful development and production of the vSpin demonstrated RSP’s ability to support highly innovative consumer products from concept through commercialization. Bevstir and RSP continue to collaborate, with additional products in development that leverage magnetic technologies similar to those used in the vSpin aerator
